Fruit Compote

This Fruit Compote Recipe is a simple and light dessert for the grill. Warm plums, nectarines and blackberries combine for a sweet treat that’s perfect for backyard barbecues and even camping trips.

  • 4 plums sliced thin
  • 2 nectarines sliced thin
  • 1 cup of fresh blackberries
  • 1/4 cup of orange juice
  • 1 Tbsp of sugar


  • Lay out two pieces of foil large enough for each to wrap half the fruit.
  • Equally divide the fruit between the two pieces of foil. Pile in the center.
  • Drizzle 1/8 cup of orange juice over the fruit.
  • Seal up the fruit into packets, folding the foil so the juice is locked in.
  • Grill the packets over low heat for 18 minutes, turning once.
  • Carefully open the packets over a bowl to catch the juice.
  • Put grilled fruit into the bowl with the juice and sprinkle with sugar. Stir well.
