Which version of Vinaigrette Salad Dressing pleases you most? Classic, simple, creamy, balsamic or half oil and vinegar? I prefer the half and half for a zestier taste.

Method for all

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well or use a jar and shake well. Serve over salad or vegetables. Refrigerate extra dressing.

Half Oil and Vinegar

This is my favorite salad dressing and it’s so easy to make! Submitted by Scott Willey, Maine, USA

2/3 cup vegetable oil
2/3 cup red wine vinegar
2 tsp white sugar
1 tsp salt
1 or 2 large garlic cloves, minced

1 tsp grated onion
2 Tbsp vinegar of your choice
1/3 cup olive oil or vegetable oil of your choice
1 tsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
1 tsp green pepper, finely chopped
1 tsp pimento, finely chopped
1/8 tsp salt or to taste
dash of pepper or to taste
1/4 tsp mustard
Variation: add 2 hard-boiled egg yolks, crumbled

1/4 cup of vinegar
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/2 tsp salt
1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
1/2 tsps minced garlic
salt and pepper to taste

Cream Variation:

Add 1/4 cup of cream and shake vigorously. Use the light pouring cream or plain light cream if you are dieting.

Balsamic Variation:

balsamic vinegar
1 Tbsp sugar
1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped.
