Steamed Vegetables

Dijon mustard combines with honey for a sweet and tangy taste in this Steamed Vegetables with honey sauce recipe. This simple to make dish compliments any holiday meal.

Ingredients

1/2 cup carrots, cut into 2 in. sticks
1 cup broccoli
1 cup cauliflower florets
2 Tbsp honey
2 Tbsp Dijon style mustard
1/2 tsp dill weed, dried

Instructions

Place a steamer into a saucepan and add water to just below the basket holes.

Add carrots. Cover and bring the saucepan to a boil over medium heat.

Reduce heat to low, and steam for 10 minutes.

Check to make sure there is enough water in the saucepan. Add as needed throughout the cooking time.

Add the broccoli and cauliflower to the pot and continue steaming for 8 minutes or until fork tender. Be careful to not over cook.

Remove and place vegetables into a serving bowl.

Combine honey, mustard and dill in a small mixing bowl. Stir well.

Pour sauce over vegetables just before serving.

Try it with snow peas and Brussels sprouts, too.
