Ham Steak Recipe with Peaches

Ham Steak  photoThis Ham Steak Recipe with peaches makes an excellent meal for a small Christmas dinner or a special family meal. There are alternate directions if you prefer a canned ham over slices.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 C ketchup
  • 1 T brown sugar
  • 1 T cider vinegar
  • 2 t Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 T + 1 t canola oil
  • 1/4 t pepper
  • 4 (4 oz ea) ham slices, boneless and fully cooked
  • 1 (8.5 oz) can sliced peaches, drained

Instructions

Using a small mixing bowl, pour ketchup and add brown sugar. Mix until sugar is dissolved.

Add vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, 1 tsp of oil, and pepper. Combine well using a wisk.

Brush both sides of the ham slices with the mixture.

Use a large skillet with the remaining oil over a medium heat. Cook each ham slice separately for 7 minutes on one side and 4 minutes on the flip side.

Transfer cooked slices to a warm platter.

Add the peaches to the pan and drizzle the remaining mixture over the top of the peaches.

Cover and cook 5 minutes over a low heat. Turn and cook for 2 more minutes.

Place peaches on top of each ham slice and serve.
