Grilled Turkey

This easy to make Grilled Turkey recipe combines traditional spices with rich smoky flavor for a delicious twist on the classic turkey dinner. Requires no basting. This recipe lets the grill to all the work.

Ingredients

  • 1 (12 lb) whole turkey, thawed
  • 2 cups water
  • 3 Tbsp chicken bouillon powder
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp poultry seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp parsley, chopped fine
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

Instructions

Spray the grill grate with a non stick cooking spray.

Adjust the grill heat to indirect medium high and allow the grill to heat up.

Sear both sides of the turkey for about 5 minutes way making sure the skin is golden brown all the way around the turkey.

Remove the turkey from the grill.

In a large roasting pan, combine water, bouillon, garlic, onion powder, poultry seasoning, parsley, paprika, salt and pepper. Blend well.

Place seared turkey breast side down into the pan.

Baste the entire turkey well with the seasoning mixture.

Wrap tightly with aluminum foil and place the pan on the heated grill.

Cook for 3 1/2 hours. The turkey is done when the internal temperature of the thickest part of the thigh reaches 180F degrees.

Let turkey rest for 30 minutes before uncovering and carving.

Yield: 10 servings
