This Easy Bruschetta Recipe is a sweet take on the traditional appetizer. Cream cheese and berries top sugared toast for a delicious companion to morning coffee. Take some along to a pot luck brunch and watch it disappear.
- 10 slices of French bread
- 5 tsp of sugar, divided
- 6 oz. fat-free cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- 3/4 Cup of fresh blackberries
- 3/4 Cup of fresh raspberries
- 1/4 Cup of slivered almonds, toasted
Preheat the boiler.
Arrange the bread slices on an ungreased cookie sheet and spray lightly with non-stick cooking spray.
Sprinkle 2 tsp of sugar evenly over the slices.
Broil 4 inches from heat until lightly browned (about a minute).
Blend cream cheese with almond extract and remaining sugar. Stir until smooth.
Spread over the bread slices and top with berries and slivered almonds.
