Crunchy French Toast

For a fun twist, try this easy to make Crunchy French Toast recipe. Crushed corn flakes baked onto the toast give added texture and flavor that kids will love.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup of egg substitute
  • 1/2 Cup of skim milk
  • 1/4 Cup of orange juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 12 slices of French bread
  • 1 1/2 Cups corn flakes, crushed

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 425F degrees.

Whisk egg substitute, milk, orange juice and vanilla extract into a shallow bowl.

Sprinkle in nutmeg and stir until combined.

Soak each slice of bread in the mixture for 5 minutes, turning once.

Place crushed corn flakes in another shallow bowl.

Press the soaked bread slices in the corn flakes to coat on both sides.

Place the coated bread slices into a casserole dish. Do not overlap the slices.

Bake for 10 minutes, turn and continue baking for 5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

Serves 6.
