Beef in Red Wine is a delightful dish because the wine helps tenderize the beef and leaves a beautiful flavor for you to enjoy. Because it is prepared in a crockpot, it is also very easy to cook and allows you many hours between preparation and serving.
Ingredients
- 3-4 lbs (1350-1800 grams) beef cut up (use a cheaper cut because it suits slow cookers)
- 4 cans mushroom soup
- 1 package of dry onion soup mix
- 1/4 pound (115 grams) of sliced mushrooms
- 1 soup can full (about 1 1/4 cups) red wine (I like to use a Shiraz because the spiciness of the wine adds to the flavor of the beef.)
Instructions
Place beef in the bottom of your slow cooker.
Mix together soup, soup mix, mushrooms and red wine. Pour over the beef.
Cover and cook for 8 hours on Low.
Serve with vegetables of choice.
