Beef Chow Mein is a fun dish because the rules that apply to chow mein are very loose and you can substitute ingredients to suit your taste. It is also a very good Chinese beef recipe to use when learning how to cook in a wok. You cannot harm the recipe if you decide to add a few extra vegetables that may be favorites of your family.
